After the 45 minute final it was the current and multiple world champion who crossed the line as first, seconds ahead of the number 2 finisher, Alberto Picco.
Altrough NOVAROSSI WORLD S.r.l. had not the most cards for the title, but we had the best card!

Here you can read an report about this exciting European championship:

The 2007 edition of the European championship 1:8 On-road was held in the last weekend of July on one of the biggest track in europe, located in Lostallo, Swiss.
Normally a laptime would be between 13 and 16 seconds....well, the fastest laptime during this EC was in a low 20 seconds.
Or you could think that the track is quite slow... but it was quite hard for a lot of drivers to make the 5 minutes.

Many drivers tried everyting trick they knew to make it, and if they made it they had a big change of doing 15 laps in five minutes, and that was needed to keep good hope for a spot in the final.

When the first qualifing session was held on friday afternoon/evening we see multiple champion Lamberto Collari on place 9 (merely setting a basic time to start with) with Andrea Pirani coming 0.5 seconds behind the world champion.
Since this session was held in the afternoon the track was quite hot thus slow.

On saturday the remaining 3 qualifing sessions where held in the morning, when the track is cold (it was quite cold at night compared the 25~30'C during the day) and fast.
So there was a lot excitment in the paddock and a lot questions...who will be the fastest?
Unfortunatly when the sun came over the mountains the track became hot very fast, reducing the laptimes rather quickly.
Only the expirienced driver adapted quickly to the fast changing track, which resulted in a place jump from Collari, from 9th to 2nd!
And he was not the only one, what Jernej Vuga pulled of was just fabulous, coming from a place far in the middle the field and jumping to a 5th place!
Just missing a direct final spot by 0.4 seconds...this gives you an idea how close/high the level of racing is during this EC.

The German 1:8 On-road champion, Robert Pietsch, has his prototype Velox also quite up to speed, having a 12th qualifing time.
0,5 seconds behind him are 2 fast Italian drivers, Fabio Domanin and Marco Vanni.

But yet 2 qualifing sessions to go, will there be again so much changes?

After all 4 qualifing rounds it still is Lamberto Collari on second place!
because of the "placejump" of Solaroli, jernej Vuga dropped 1 place down to the 6th spot, very well driving by the current EC-B 1:8 champion!

Here is a list of the top 15 drivers.

1 - Michael Salven
2 - Lamberto Collari - NOVA COLLARI
3 - Stefano Solaroli
4 - Francesco Tironi
5 - Alberto Picco
6 - Jernej Vuga - NOVA PLUS 2

After the 2 semi finals it became time to see who from both the semi finals made it into the 45 minute during fight for the European championship 2007 title.
The drivers who had the luck to be in the Semi A final had the advantage of a cooler track (some rain clouds passed the track, but it did not rain), which means that the semi A should be faster then the semi B final.

And if you look who came from the A or B you see that the semi A final was indeed the faster semi final.
From the semi A final came:
- Francesco Tironi
- Fabio Domanin - Max Power
- Daniele Ielasi
- Rick Vrielijnck

From the Semi B came:
- Mark Green
- Massimo Fantini - Max Power

And at 16:00 the main final started, with a 10-minute delay because Daniele Ielasi had some problems.
When the final got underway, Salven and Picco had quite a fight, While Collari followed on some distance...to prevent any possible racing accident.
To stay on a little distance was indeed a wise choice of Collari, as Salven and Picco had a little get together which dropped Salven a few places back.

The next 20 minutes Picco and Collari stayed close together (within 2 seconds), and at this point Daniele ielasi was already out of the title fight due a 2-speed failure, which costed him 7 valuable laps.
As the fight continues, Picco comes in to change his tires, while Collari does not change his tires!
This action gives Collari a lead of well over 10 seconds over Picco who finds him self now on the second place.
Meanwhile Pole man Salven had some trouble with his car and needed to came in, and as if the devil was playing against him, during that stop his engine suffered from a flame out.
Placing Salven well out for any European championship title hopes.
In the last few minutes of the 45-minute final it became very exciting as Picco closed the gap with race leader Collari to a few seconds.

With Collari having a much lower top speed then the hard chasing Picco, he had made a big enough gap to hold the lead until the very end of the final!
After 45 racing during this final of the 2007 European championship it is Lamberto Collari who crossed the finish line 2 second before the number 2, Alberto Picco!
On the third came Francesco Tironi;
Fourth place went to Mark Green;
The fifth place was for Italian Massimo Fantini (Max Power).
